VARIODRIVE also has servo disc couplings from R+W Couplings in the SCL product range. These servo disc couplings consist of two hubs, which are connected via at least two blades made of spring steel. The design gives the coupling its compact construction and is easy to (dis) assemble. The hubs of the multi-plate clutch are made of high-quality aluminum as standard. This results in a low weight and therefore a low moment of inertia. The connection between the blades and the hubs is free of play. In addition, the SCL multi-plate clutch enables high torques with high torsional stiffness.
These precision couplings are mainly used at high torques, in environments with high temperatures and are corrosion resistant. The applications include: machine building, print technology, extruders, test stands.
