AMER has developed advanced steering systems for steering modern AGVs and traction vehicles. The AMER steer by wire systems are rotating mechanical systems. One side can be mounted on the machine frame, the other side carries the steered wheel. The control systems can be equipped with both PMDC and BLDC motor. The steering angle is read via an encoder that is mounted directly on the steering axle (i.e. the wheel plate). Furthermore, the rotating steering systems can be provided with a controller for controlling the steering motor. The steering system can be further integrated into the vehicle automation system or as a manual steering system.
Various variants are available in terms of steering speed and steering force: ask our application engineers. The AMER steering systems are mechanically directly compatible with the AMER wheel hub motors. If desired, these can be delivered assembled. A control unit can also be completely customized, both mechanically and electrically, completely tailored to your wishes.
